| jazz j | query re winmail.dat This is probably because she is using Microsoft Outlook and this is sending rich text as a proprietary Microsoft format where the text and style data get bundled up in a non-standard way and then sent in a winmail.dat attachment. Your hotmail account is a webmail protocol and this deals with attachments in a different way so will see the attachment in its proper format.
