Intranets & Extranets

An Intranet is a company's internal website and not visible to the public. They allow an organisation's information to be securely shared among its employees. Many of the same concepts and technologies that can be found on the Internet are used to build an Intranet. Prenticechallis Design can build an Intranet that will allow employees to find and view information and applications quickly, relevant to their roles and responsibilities as well as communicate easily among each other.

Publishing on an Intranet allows corporate knowledge to be maintained and easily accessed throughout the company. This could include employee manuals, benefits documents, company policies, business standards, newsfeeds, and even training. Because each business unit can update the online copy of a document, the most recent version is always available to employees using the Intranet. A content management system (CMS) and secure login system will be built into any project and will be tailored to fit in with any corporate image which will allow your business to achieve this.

Extranets differ from Intranets in that the latter is generally restricted to employees of the organisation while extranets can generally be accessed by customers, suppliers, or other approved parties.
